Chiu Yuk Wah
was born in Panyu of Guangdong province. She migrated to Hong Kong in 1980. She then studied painting from her grandfather Professor Chao Shao-ang ( 趙少昴 a renowned master of the “Lingnan School” of painting). Chiu Yuk Wah graduated from the Lingnan School of Painting in 1984. In 1989, she joined the Female Contemporary Art Exhibition organized by the Mongkok Municipal Services Building. In the same year, she completed a certificate course in Chinese Ink Painting offered by the School of Continuing and Professional Studies Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUSCS). Since 1986, her masterpieces have been showcased in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia, etc. In 2012, her art pieces were put on display in the Masters in Painting-Works of Contemporary Artists exhibition/ Chinese Painting and Calligraphy exhibition at Venetian Macau. She has actively promotes arts in various educational institutions, and she was invited to be a course lecturer of Ink Wash Painting (Shui Mo Hua) at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Chao is currently the Chairperson/ Director of 波希展藝術協會理事, the course director of Choi Yee/ Creative Art Academy and a committee of Hong Kong Lingnan Art Association, 香港蘭亭學會, The Hong Kong Art Club, and a committee for this year’s painting exhibition.
