Vai Chi Leong
Hong Kong contemporary self-taught artist Vai Chi Leong transforms his hobby of painting to a career in art. His early artworks were involved acrylic painting and digital art of female figures. In his latest creations, the painting style is changed to abstract form as he believes that this is a better approach of expressing ideas and imaginations freely through his paintings.
What motivates you to be an artist?
“I can do it.” is my slogan and motivation to become what I wanted to be — an artist.
Why is art important to you?
Art is a great tool to express my feelings and imaginations out to the world. Not only art has the the ability to let us seeing things from different perspective, but it also has the power to inspire and motivate people mind.
